I tried to look this up to see if there has been a past discussion on this issue - even though it is not listed as a PD "symptom.
Has anyone else had major dental issues - possibly connected with their PD? My dentist says it is due to my dry mouth caused by the medications I am taking.
I am sick & tired of going to the dentist and having him find another area that will require AT LEAST 4 hours in the dental chair - and usually an appt. with some type of dental specialist! This has been going on for 10+ years no matter how meticulous I am about keeping my teeth & gums well taken care of.
And - the cost (even after insurance) has become ridiculous. I have finally resorted to only having the work completed that I can afford thru my insurance and leaving the rest till a new insurance year rolls around. I am refusing to take out any more loans!!!
Right now he is waiting to hear back from me on how I want to proceed with his latest news (left the office in tears & told them I would get back to them!).
I am seriously considering dentures to end this merry go round!!! Has anyone else had to go this route? If so, have you regretted it or has it been a blessing???

Right in the process of deciding to get a snapettte to snap in over the FOUR REMAINING UPPER TEETH.....
I do not believe i t's dry mouth, I believe it is the carbidopa levadopa
and I am just heartsick.....I cannot open my mouth in public and have to do a huge explanation when I do you tube videos... yes indeed i t's AWFUL
Have been in dentist so often she both christmas presents for the whole family , in laws included just from the fee I paid her.

I have had pain in my jaw for as long as I can remember, not thinking to relate it to PD until Birdy mentioned it - I thought it was from having dental surgery when I was young. Surely not something else to add to the list!
The only thing I have found to really relieve this is Pilates, on a one to one basis my Pilates instructor releases and stretches the fascia. It feels like your face is melting, which is obviously a strange sensation but once you are over that it is fantastic, I can whole heartedly recommend it - best of luck!
