that sounds like he had a seizure to me. strange that the dr didn't address it because some meds can cause seizures. probably not much help from me.

Did they change his meds or add any new ones lately? Could he have forgotten to take a dose? How about some kind of possible infection - like UTI?

Sounds like you gave him some good advise. He must be really scared - I would be!

Alex, There's still so much i don't understand about how this disease moves in each of us I couldn't begin to guess what happened there. The things CM asked make sense. Since it happened so extremely and only one day maybe there was some sort of change (accidentally too much med or forgetting some) but who knows. I have always tremored on only my left side then it started on the right but that lasted for a week now it's only left again. It's a strange strange disease. I would also be frustrated by the doctors response but you are right Alex they don't have all the answers.

Hi Alex, PD is as you'll already know is a unpredictable complex illness, we are all different regarding with the way it effects us. I have full body tremours but thankfully they ain't too regular, they nearly always kick-in when I'm totally relaxed... but they can appear when under severe stress,anxiety,aggitation & worrying... It's sensible to make a note of the date/time & place when these happen.. hopefully your friends may just show on the odd occaision.. but it can depend on the persons age,age of diagnosis & the meds he takes etc... it could be an indicator that his PD is progressing... I don't have problems with confusion or co-ordination,but if your friend gets these plus the body tremour he needs to see someone who really understands & is an expert on PD... The symptoms tend to hit & miss,so that makes if difficult for the Neuro's & Doc's to decide on the best action to take.

Dirky, The Doctor he and I both see is one of the top movement disorder specialists in NYC. I think it is just plain scarry when you see someone you know slide suddenly. Gradual progression of symptoms is unfortunately something most of us here can understand. Rapid on set or ramping up of existing symtoms is just not fair.

QUITE FRANKLY I THINK ONE TRAVELS ON DANGEROUS GROUND IN ASKING THE UNQUALIFIED FOR ADVISE ON SUCH A SERIOUS MATTER.

Hi Alex , it sounds to me like your friend suffered TIA[ transient ischemic attack . Or a small stroke . The symptom usually subside and there is no change in a person . The problem is ,they are usually precursor to a major stroke and that is big problem. Tell your friend or his wife to take him to family Dr. To evaluate him and decide if he needs a further testing. That is what i think. Zlatica
