I have a very strange question. I took azelect when i was first diagnosed and couldn't handle it. I had extreme nausea and horrible joint pains...i was taking it with mirapex... My doc took me off of it after a month or so. Now I have been taking mirapex and my Sinemet... My doc is now taking me off the Mirapex because of a compulsive problem that's starting and some joint pain... So now he wants me to give the Aelect a try again telling me that it may have been the combo with the mirapex that caused the bad joint pain... My question is has anyone had a similar situation where they had bad side effects when a drug was combined with another one but worked well when not? And... has anyone experienced a lot of nausea with azelect and does it pass after a while... i'm willing to tough that part out again but not the joint pain.. any feedback would be appreciated... Thanks...

Hi Paula, sorry I got sleepy last night ,while you were gone . Went back to sleep. Now sense you mentioned yes I developed some joint pain with Azilect , but not bad and no nausea. Already had the nausea with Mirapex and the s Sinamet when they added the Azilect but it went away after while . Now I take all of them without a problem. Zlatica

Hiya Paula,

I started on Azilect with no side-effects at all but as I started taking co-enzyme Q10 and Requip XL straight after I don't really know what was doing what or if they're inter-reacting. All I know is Requip XL has knocked me for six each time (initially and increase) but everything has settled down.

I've been told that Azilect is still probably causing my sleep disturbance,anxiety and agitation (I thought that was just me too hehehe!)

Good morning all, I started azilect in 11/2010 so have been on it for over a year. I had minor nausea for about 2 weeks when I first started. It did not cause me any joint pain. I was extremely paranoid and anxious and the azilect relieved me of those symptoms until about 4/2010 so started sinemet in 9/2011 and the paranoia and anxiety have gone away again. No nausea when I started with the Sinemet guess the sinemet paved the way. Enjoy. Feeling much better today.

Paula, I tried azalect and could not tolorate it at all. I take sinemet, selegeline, and amantadine this combonation has worked better for me than previos combinations. Mirapex controlled tremores well, but clearly enduced compulive behavior. I have been on the same dose for 1 1/2 years. If you feel the combo of meds are not working for you then be proactive with your neurologist. I found that keeping a log book of meds dose, timing and symptoms will help you have the tool to help your doc fine tune or change meds to ones that work. Best regards Alex

Massive amount of joint pain with azilect and sinemet. Stopped azilect and joint pain reduced by 3/4.

I took azilect for three months before starting on sinemet. I am not sure, but I believe the azilect caused me to start losing weight. Did not notice any other side effects. I do sometimes get nauseated for a few minutes after taking the sinemet.

Thanks for all your feed back... i am definately going to ask my doctor about selegeline... apparently it protects the good brain cells like azelect but without the joint pain and for a lot less money... thanks again

I've never taken azilect, but I do take sinamet. If I feel nausiated when I take meds, then I eat radishes, it helps a lot.# of radihes depends on amount of nausea.
