It was a good movie with a happy ending. She seems to be taking a lot of medication, however, and expecting the worst. Should bring more awareness to Parkinson's.

I have been debating seeing it-I know I will cry even if it has a happy ending.

I'm debating myself in seeing the movie! I think the only happy ending would be a cure., but that is not real

I hope it brings Parkinson's a very public awareness, therefore lots of donations, therefore a cure YAY

I'm interested and I think Anne Hathoway would play that role well. I'm currently awaiting diagnosis but Neurologist believes I may have Myoclonic Dystonia or Early Onset Parkinsons Disease. From what I have read I'm leaning towards Early Onset but I'm no expert. I just want to know so I can deal with it.

Gingye, the movie is really new, and is possibly screening at the cinemas in the USA , im guessing you live there.

I live in beautiful Australia, and it will be screening next week here,

I imagine in both of our countries, it will not be on dvd until the cinemas have finished with it,

@ Lolly, your pic looks like you are very young, my recommendation would not be to believe everything you see in movies, and honey l truly hope you are not diagnosed with pd, but if you are, well there are worse things to be diagnosed with, that are incurable, and pd is not a death sentence, so don't be scared x x

Maybe---I will rent it in a few more mos when it comes out on DVD then I can fast forward through the naked scenes I have heard about. Don't really care for Anne Hathaway as an actress but will see.

PD is not the worst thing in the world to have for sure. I wish I could get rid of the thyroid disease and the worry that the nodules on my thyroid will turn to cancer someday. That disease is worse than PD that I have in my opinion. There is absolutely no foundations for thyroid problems like there is for PD.

welll i just saw it won a gloden globe nomination..i watched the trailer but i didnt see anything that indicated she had parkinson's.. honestly.. and i dont mean to offend .. it seemed like any other faling in love and lets have a ton of sex movie.. and really lack of interest in sex.. was one of my first symptoms... and the one that is threatening my marriage or two years now ...i dont want to have sex..so maybe uncontrolable sexual urges is a side effect of some drugs.. but honestly.. for me.. i was robbed first of my desire or abilty to feel any desire.. for well anything.. ok depression? no more like dopamine drives that " feel good part of the brain" too much like a person who is psychotic and you feel " too good.." not enough you dont feel good about anything.. i havent seen this movie, granted, only the trailer, but i already feel betrayed and well like it wont say one thing i can relate too..im kind of mad at this trailer sorry but i am ~

I just saw the movie. Go see it. The portrayal of young onset PD symtomology is accurate. You should be warned that there are explicet sexual scenes. I feel that this film will educate the public about what a person with young onset PD goes thru with good days and bad days. The large quantities of medications, the lack of a cure, and the insecurities associated with a degenerative disease. The film was entertaining and had a good love story.

well i can say im sure id relate to the insecurities of having a degereative disease..i have been married for the second time for just over 4 years, he is 11 yeasr older than me.. and i am constantly worried that ill be way lessattractive as this thing progresses, maybe ill see the movie just to reate to that part , thanks

I saw it and agree with hisknobs. A good love story. The support group scene shows some individuals who are shakey walking to the front of the group one at a time and sharing the things they are still doing in spite of their difficulties with PD. I did feel somewhat anxious during parts of the movie, and left feeling more self conscious of my tremors. I suppose it's a clever back door way to educate the public by drawing them in with prescription drugs and sex. The bigger points of the movie isn't the sex, but discovering a committed love relationship in spite of things that make us less than "perfect". It doesn't sugar coat PD, but adds some realism with the support group scene, and brief comments from doctors/caregivers the guy runs into. I think because we are focused on what we are facing the PD scenes will have a bigger impact on us than on the general public. Still it's good the word gets out if it does nothing but pique the public's curiosity.

I cried my way through it yesterday. The movie itself was good and the actors are some of my favourites but from a young woman with Pd's point of view it was very confronting. I still feel quite emotional about it today and I think it's because it leaves you with no hope for the future. As a positive person, hope for recovery keeps me going.

@ Ginge maybe the lack of sex drive is menopausal, Im waiting for that one!!! and l would not blame pd for that. I still have a healthy appetite for love making, but that might be because l have a very caring loving partner, who l adore. The annoying things that pd has given me , are a slow walk, loss of arm swing and writing, massive feeling of being uncomfortable in my own body, stiffness. Hopefully l will not let it rob me from intimacy

I still chose to not see the movie, as stated before, how can their be a happy ending, unless they find a cure.
