Parkinson's Disease Support Group
Parkinson's disease is a movement disorder often characterized by muscle rigidity, tremor, a slowing of physical movement, and in extreme cases, a loss of physical movement. The primary symptoms of Parkinsons are due to excessive muscle contraction, normally caused by the insufficient formation and action of dopamine, which is produced in the dopaminergic neurons of the...

My naturaopath had a local compounding pharmacy in Kent, Wa make it up and they sent it to me. They made up about a months supply for $65 and then it had to be shiped cold $12
I'm looking for a more local pharmacy, one that I can drive to so I can delete shipping
It helped my regidity by about 20% so far. It gives me really good energy also.
Walking every day also helps my rigidity, without side effects

Went to compound chemist, they will make it for me for $80.00 (thts around ($90 American) for 30 mls . Cant afford it, cry cry, wish l could
If anyone finds a place who makes it cheaply in USA and posts it, l would appreciate the information
Also Azilect coming to Australia in the next 6 months, my neuro said he would swap me to that, as it apparently slows the progression,
lets hope our government helps out a little, and puts it on public health, meaning it will cost me $5.30 per month

Tommy3, I am happy to hear that you haven't had any problems with Amentadine. I just came off it because it caused hallucinations and serious swelling of my feet and legs. It was very effective in extending my "on" time of my meds! However, the side effects were too much for me.
Good luck with the Glutathione! Oh,I forgot to mention that It is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration!
I wanted to try the intravenous but my naturopath suggested the nasal spray, mainly because it too passes the blood brain barrier, but is easier to administer and it was a easy way to see if it works for me. So far day 14 and I feel MUCH better.
By the way I too am trying to delete amantadine becasuse of some of the same reasons. That's my next goal. By the way L Glutathione has helps my rigidity also by about 30%
Thanks and keep me posted on what your DR says
Cheers Tommy

I thought I had read that glutathione is hard for the body to absorb and it's better for the body to make glutathione. I had read that N-Acetyl Cysteine was good for this. Here's a link: http://www.advance-health.com/nacetylcysteine.html
I should let you know I've been a jeweler for 33 years and still have the company going. During this last 11 days before Christmas I've been swamped with jewelry orders, so the answer is: I'm still reading on your links, but what I've read is helpful. I want to make a list of all the natural treatments that are working for me and post it. You had asked me to and I will. I have some profound and interesting data, that for me has worked.
I'll keep you uppdated.
Thanks and Merry Christmas
Tommy
I wanted reply to your question about absorbing L-Glutathione. There's three ways I've found so far to get L-Glutathione. #1 is eating the right foods ( That I haven't done for years) #2 Take L-Glutathione prescursors like Cysteine, Glycine and L-Glutamic acid. (takes longer to find out if its good for me) #3 Take L-Glutathione as a supplement. Your right that it's hard for the body to absorb thru the gut, because it usually doesn't cross the blood/brain barrier.
So what to do to get it in you brain so it will help.
Well the way it was explained to me you can get a doctor/naturaopath to inject you with it 3 times a week. Or try to absorb it thru the nose, which when inhaled goes right into the brain.
I choose the later because I wanted to try it, and didn't want to inject it and pay about 3 times as much. I have been inhaling it for 23 days now and feel it has give me my natural energy back and I feel MUCH better since begining it's use. Lots better really.
My goal is to get my levels up so that I recieve benifits and then taper off using the inhaler by bettering my diet and maybe supplements. But the costs of the precursors may be more.
I asked my naturopath about which direction is better and she said that we just don't produce as much L-Glutathione as we age and she felt I would benifit by an inhaler.
I hopes this helps
