Updating as promised.
Went to see the neurologist this past Monday. She confirmed that I had PD as my doctor felt pretty sure I did.. She put me on Ropinirole, a dopamine agonist. Started me on 0.25 mg 3x a day. Supposed to double it tomorrow unless it works good enough as is.
It has been better than nothing, but not quite as good as the Sinimet was. So I'll be upping it tomorrow. Have had more side-effects than I did with Sinimet, mainly drowsiness and dizziness. The latter is supposed to diminish as my body gets used to it. Seems to be worst when I'm laying down and I roll to my left after waking up. The whole room starts spinning. So I've avoided doing that.
But I'm hoping it can eventually get me closer back to normal than the Sinimet dose was doing. Being a writer, my typing speed has been cut in half. I'd like to get it back up if possible. So far nothing has made me feel normal again. Both help, but don't totally get rid of the rigidity in my left arm and fingers, or the tremors, especially if I'm at all stressed like singing/reading in church.
I guess I'll have to endure until I can find what works.

The neurologist wants to save the Sinemet for when the agonist no longer works, if it works. Today was my first day at the higher prescribed dose. I didn't notice any increase in side effects. A little light-headedness and drowsy feeling. But it has done better on reducing symptoms than my Sinemet dose did. So it appears to be working. That at least is good.
