I need advice on citolopram (celexa)

My mom has been prescribed celexa 10mg. She has taken it only for 3-4 days and have terrible side effects: nausea, stomach pain, drowsiness just to name few. Please advice if you experience similar symptoms? I'm planing to call her neuro tomorrow and get her off of this med. What a nightmare.

Hi pdcaregiver, I was just wondering how you made out after talking to her neurologist? My m-i-l is 85 and was just prescribed celexa, 10mg. I'm afraid to start her on it due to the side affects. She is very frail and frequently has side affects to a lot of meds. She is currently on sinemet and mirapex, along with blood pressure and cholesterol meds.
The reason her neuro (PA not MD) prescribed celexa was because at her last visit she began to cry when the PA was asking her questions. She has recently taken a downward turn with regards to dementia or alzheimer's and I'm not sure she even needs the celexa.
