I am a 52 year old woman who has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia but I am convinced that, that is what it is.
I have a lot of twitching in my hands and legs. Normally when I am resting I;ll have my hand resting on the keyboard and before I know it on its own the arms moves to the other side of the paper. I guess it is more like a jerking motion and the same things with my legs, My legs however are more frequent and they are not so jerking as my hands.
My speech is all over the place. Some times I know it sometimes I dont. I find myself stuttering not knowing the word I am trying to say also memorie short term is ll gone. If I dont write something down right away I will forget it. Do these all sound like Parkinsons symptems to you? I so wish they (the doctors) could figure out what is going on. Have been dealing with this for the last three years, they have me on many medications, I have been diagonsed with 2 fractures in my back, Fibromyalgia, and a little depression. Please tell me I am not crazy. Looking forward to some replys. Thanks again for your advice. Michelle

Is this jerking all day long? When you try to sleep? How is your walking stride? Other symtoms?

Walking stride seems to be ok. I am dizzy more times then not. The jerking is not all day long but when I am trying to relaz in my chair in my computer or my leg when I am sitting in a doctors office. Other symptoms, I have what they call Fog brain. Slurring my words, forgetting words, short term memory is terriable. Sleeping habbits are terriable. I wake and nap all night long.

I had many of the same sympotoms. I was also told I may have fibro since I was having fibro like pain. I was finally DXD with Parkinsons last year. I responded to the PD meds after a battery of tests and inconclusive DX attempts. We will has some good questions. I never shake while asleep or when I first get up. I am not a doctor but many of your symptoms sound like PD. Dave aka flyboy57

Maybe you should see a neurologist that specializes in Movement Disorders if you are not already seeing one.

A neurologist specializing in movement disorders sounds like your best bet.

i too was dianosed with fibro for several years before my pd dianosis. i had all the symptoms you wrote plus several more. good luck with finding a good nurologist.

When diagnosis is difficult particular at early stage, sometimes you can be started on sinemet. If you respond well, then it probably is Parkinson's

I've just been diagnosed after two years of being told I was ok, (by three nuerologists) nothing showed up on any other scan other than a Dat scan, hopefully you'll get a better result
