I was wondering, for those who have experienced dyskinesia, how long and on what dosage of Sinemet did it take before you started noticing your dyskinesia?
I've been on Sinemet for a total of six months with a 2 month break after 2 months on. At times, like yesterday, I've noticed some dyskinesia-like movements in my right hand (PD started in left arm) which to date hasn't tremored much, though I can tell PD is working its way to my right side. So I'm wondering if it is PD causing that, or if it isn't too early for dyskinesia to be setting in. I've always been under the impression that dyskinesia took a few years to get going.

Re dyskinesia,
Dyskinesia is caused by the long time use of dopermine replacement treatments. It typically presents after 6-7 years of beginning this treatment.
Not everyone develops dyskinesia.
Dyskinesia like symptoms can and do present, if you are over medicated. I am reluctant to discuss other people's medication by name, because I am not qualified and also there are differing brand names in our respected countries, making it dangerous ground to walk on.
I developed hyper dyskinesia for which I underwent DEEP BRAIN
STIMULATION SURGERY, with successful outcomes in 2009.
