Was handling it quite well since after some research here and elsewhere I have known for about a week now. Till I had a friend tell me it was okay to cry and haven't been able to stop since. Pissed at my mom for dying last year cuz I really need her now. Pissed at the medicine that most likely caused it (confirmed by neurologist), seroquel.
Yes, I am also bipolar which is how I came to this site many years ago. lost an email address so I also lost my main account. Pissed I can't get it back. Pissed at the solar eclipse today that should have warned me this was coming. Pissed that I didn't realize something was wrong 7 or 8 yrs ago when this started. Maybe I could have helped sooner. Pissed at Robin Williams, also bi-polar for copping out when he was dxed.
Honestly, I can handle using a walker all the time, i can handle the tremors, just can't handle losing my brain. I know that is likely years away (except for my short term memory which is already gone)
Did everyone else get angry as a first response/ Actually crying was first then anger.....are these the stages of grief?

I did not react with anger or tears at first. My panic was how long do I have before I can not function. I have always been the caregiver and now as this is getting worse I find I am needed to ask for help. That is so hard to do.
Anger is one of the steps in the "Grief" process, and we all go through them at different times. I hate what this illness has done to my family.
I hope you have a family that is willing to learn about this illness and be there for you and help you. There will be many stages of emotions that you will go through. This is a great group and I know they will help support you as much as they can.
My son told me that it was the best illness to get because of the large amount of research going on there will be new meds and such to help improve our quality of life, maybe even a cure.
Hang in there, this is just a new chapter in your book of life. Many people are able to continue with their jobs, and regular life for many many years.
