But in regard to coffee. I'm a heavy duty coffee drinker. I drink at least 3 cups before I leave in the morning for work and at work I have a double shot cappuccino, and then I start on the decaf one or two cups in the afternoon. LOL I think I fill the bill when looking for a big coffee drinker. I inherited my love of coffee from my grandmother. In the 50's she used to give us all coffee milk along with breakfast.
A lot of times I get up around 3:00 am and start drinking my beloved coffee then and wait out taking my sinement until 6:00 am and I feel my coffee HELPS me get through that awake, active 3:00 am - 6:00 am period when I will take my first morning dose of sinemet.
As far a coffee waiving off PD - I have been a heavy coffee drinker since age 30 and I still got PD.
So I consider coffee part of my medical cocktail of PD drugs.
Meanwhile on another site recommending a supplement regimen, out of no where and with no explanation, it says to start your morning off with a strong cup of coffee.
So I figured I'd ask what real-life PD folks have experienced. Out of the responses here and a couple I got on a Facebook PD support group, the answer is a unanimous it makes no difference one way or the other.
By way of background, I'm a home roaster of coffee. Have regularly drank coffee most of my adult life, and became a coffee snob in 2004 when I pickup up on home roasting my coffee.
Based on all this, I think it is safe to once again move back to full caffeinated coffee. :)
Cups a day.a couple of years ago the cut down to 2. I would feel worse without my morning coffee.
