I know exercise, eating right, keeping busy have helped him for so many years, but he just needed something more finally. It's tough to add another med, but it did seem to help my Father.
It's been about 6 months now and his mood, appetite and energy level have increased. He is totally against medications, so this was not easy, but I think I would have lost him without it this year.
This is just our experience with this and everyone is so different. Hopefully you have a doctor you trust to help guide you through this. My mom has been on Celexa for at least 2 years. She is much better on it, and she also was totally against any new meds, especially anti-dep's. She gets Celexa just once a day, not sure of the dosage.
It's a difficult choice, I'm so sorry for you and your mom, I've been there. My mom is now in a nh, and she is happy, and I know the Celexa has to be helping her attitude.
Good luck, keep us posted, Melody
