My name is Maya. My mom has a Parkinson's disease. I'm a caregiver. I found this site while searching info about rosagiline. Mom's doctor prescribed her this medication few days ago and I was wondering what side effect it may cause?
This is my first group I join so far.

I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS MED I HAVE HAD PD FOR ABOUT 8 YEARS.

I have tried many meds, now I cannot get the patches they seemed to help. was on amantadine about 5 mos ago. Have a sensitive stomach cannot take most med. but this time around I been on it for 18 days. It helps I can drive better, I am nore steady and alert I don't feel druged like all the other made me feel but I still have the cronic leg pns. and I can't take prescription pn meds. It seem if I could get rid of the pn in my legs I would feel better. Does anyone else have pn to their legs. i can't sleep at night so this adds to feelin really bad, but I really would appreciate if anyone can tell if they're in pn. all the time and suggest what to take to get rid of this pn.

I think the med you are referring to is rasagiline or it goes under the trade name of Azilect. The following website has a lot of good info on this medication. http://www.neurology.wisc.edu/montgomery/Patient%20info%20on%20Rasagiline.pdf There are many food and drug interactions that you have to be careful with when taking Azilect, including over-the-counter and herbal remedies. In response to an3's question about the leg pain..Have you tried Neurontin? It really helps..especially at night. Leg and foot pain has been a major problem for me too.
