Dont judge me badly, and this is just an observation of myself. I wonder why when I have consumed to much alcohol , I dont suffer from PD symptoms, I am relatively normal

Hi Peachy, I am not a drinker , but i think i will start if it improve my symptoms. I feel so crummy sometimes , glass of vine may be good for me. Thank you for the tip . And as for the judgement let the innocent man throw the first stone . I dare say there is no one. Love Zlatica

I think the alcohol simulates dopamine, to the pleasure centers of the brain. Might be a side effect helping PD symptoms.

Thursday night is whiskey night. Bourbon whiskey that is.

Hi Peachy! The fact is for me that if i only hae a drink or 2 it is just enough of a stimulant to make my tremor worse....then drink 3 or more and PD symptoms start to go away or im to hammered too notice (chuckle).....i likke bourbon........anyway the next day i will also feel good even and especially if i drank alot the previous night. I limit the driinks to periodic and no more than 5 or 6 cocktails then i feel great the next day but my shakes and rigidity are worse at day 2 after all the alcohol is gone. Overall it makes me worse if i look at the whole 3 day picture even though i feel better with less symtoms when i am hammered.

LOL I love your post Peachy!!!!! But I think alcohol is like the sinemet - the more you drink the more it takes and then your talking about a another support group LOL

peachy... the same happens to me... but a little like BP... i have one glass of wine and my tremor gets worse or starts up but then after 2 or three... voila they are gone.... cheers!!!

Hi Peachy, in the early years after diagnosis I drank, but not in great amounts, but after a while my nurse at the Doc's surgery advised me to try & lower my intake of alcohol with an intention of stopping altogether. This I eventually managed to do and to be perfectly honest I don't miss the booze at all now.

I found that drinking doesn't suit me, it made my symptoms much worse and the more I had the bigger pain in the butt I became...lol..
I think if you drink moderately you'll be Ok, just be careful.....
