Good morning Aliveo, I have lost the hair on my legs and only have a few twigs left on underarms. I love the fact that I don't have to shave my legs any longer and underarms only every now and then. But I think I am losing more hair on top. I have a lot of hair so it is not noticeably only to me. When it comes to my my top hair I get upset so try not to think about it. I have shared about hair loss before on DS - it totally amazes me. Just like with the blurred vision we probably need dopamine to help grow hair and that is the cause. But why only some of us? I found out about the need for dopamine in the vision process by listening to Charlie Reed's PBS series The Brain. Only listened to a few episodes though - there are many episodes. Will listen to the rest of them when I retire. Each episode is an hour long and very interesting. The mind is a wondrous thing!!! The more I learn about our bodies and the solar system the more I believe in God.

So far, still hairy! I hope my leg hairs fall out too. Aliveo, you've made my day with this intereresting post.

Ha Stewart.... leave it to you to find the positive in this condition... So far i'm still hairy... I will be watching my legs now with fingers crossed!!! Glad you had that moment of levity in your meeting!!!

I was just reading about Ldopa and hair loss can be a side effect... so maybe that's it...

Hi Stewart, I have heard of this before and I know that my hair was begining to thin a little before my PD diagnosis. Though in many mens cases hairloss can be hereditory as my Grandfather & Father had hairloss.. but neither had PD, but is it caused by L/dopa in Sinemet too? or other meds? I have noticed that the hairs on both my calves have gone bald too.

I find it annoying that where I'd my hair to fall out ie; on my back... lol.. is still going strong and turning grey, & my nose and ear hair needs strimming every 2 weeks, but upto being 40 I trimmed them once every 2 yrs...lol...

I feel genuinely sorry for the ladies who have hairloss problems, they have my sympathy.

Do you all think it is because we are getting old?

I know women PD free, who tell me their hair falls out. Men isnt that a given, your going bald :)

I dont know if it has anything to do with PD honestly.

But Im willing to blame PD for anything, detrimental to my vanity . (that comment is directed at me AliveO)

Oh Stewart... lighten up buddy, why so serious, Ok.. I goofed up, I try not to take life so seriously.. I got the point of your post and is an important issue to highlight.

Smiling, laughing, humour & hugging are still free and should be made the most of before we start getting taxed on them too.

So far I still have PD and still have hairy legs!
Hairless legs haven't spread to Sydney yet ...will keep waiting for it!!!
