Parents Whose children have been sexually abused Community Group
This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !

In the meantime, please notice how worry about the future robs you of joy today. It makes you live emotionally through an experience that hasn't even happened, and never may. Focus on today and you will have your answers. Here's a great technique I just learned, at my advanced age (!!), for staying present: when you find yourself worrying, literally talk yourself through what you are currently doing: "I'm making salad for dinner. Now I'm slicing the avocado. Now I'm scooping out the avocado. Let me get the dressing. I'm opening the fridge now....." etc. It really can bring you back from a path you don't deserve to travel.
Thank you, Naive1, for the reminder about worrying about the future. This is a big problem for me. Something I do all the time. It's something I need to get in control and manage.
