Parents Whose children have been sexually abused Community Group
This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !
Also, we probably won't get justice for our case either. My kids don't believe the system works for them either. If you have read any of my story, you know the nightmare that will haunt us forever and the evil that they continue to perpetuate in their own home with their own children! I just pray that one of them breaks enough to tell the truth to some one who can help them!
Paranoia of evil for our babies is totally normal but I can promise you that I am NOT a pedophile. :) Don't give up!
To people who expect you to get over it, say, "The man who was violent with my daughters lives without punishment in our community. We sometimes see him. We must always be vigilant. It's sometimes exhausting, and I just wanted to let off some steam."
This has taken a horrible toll on our finances. I think it has affected a lot of us in that way -- paying for therapy, moving, divorce/court costs, etc. I know that won't make you feel better, but I hope it will make you feel less alone. After the fact of the abuse itself, and the realization that my daughter had held onto this painful secret for 14 years, and realizing that 14 years of my life had been a lie, the sense of aloneness was often overwhelming. We know this happens to others -- but it's difficult to find those others "in real life." It's good to come here when you need to be heard.
I was able to get my mind off a lot of it all by going through training to be a domestic violence advocate (suggested by our local sex crimes detective), and doing the helpline and going on the crisis response team calls really helped me to get the need to do something/be an activist thing out of my system. My kids have done similar smaller types of things to help themselves move forward, so just putting that idea out there. Adopting a shelter pet has helped some people (we did that too), or even just writing a letter to a veteran, a shut in, or to an elderly person who has no family or friends left. It helps change the magnitude of your circumstances, and helps you realize how much potential you have and how it's important to keep moving forward.
Sending healing thoughts and prayers to you all....
