Toe to toe face off with Monster boy's mom!!!
Well today was the day...the day that I have been dreading since this reality has come about. Not only did I see monster boy and his sister but I actually had to confront his mom and ask her to please let MY children be allowed to attend the VBS at the church around the corner from MY house and that we had already registered for. She showed up the second day; we were already there yesterday. She tried to make excuses that it was only her daughter coming; I explained to her that even her daughter caused anxiety in my children right now. After 15 minutes of going back and forth she finally conceded. That was one of the most emotional meetings I have had to have this year.
I was scared...I wanted so badly just walk away...to shrink into the background to take my kids home and to not even think about this church ever again! But me standing up isn't just for my children anymore...it's for all these other kids at this church that have absolutely no clue that monsters walk among them. I am standing up for the safety of the community that is right near me, my mom's church. So I had to do it! I got to stare into the eyes of the little sister and what I saw was shock then guilt. She understands why she had to leave VBS even though her mom tried to not let her see our family as the reason why she left. She, the mom, wanted to hug my kids and asked if she was allowed to and I told her she had to ask them. My daughter backed up into the wall grabbed her inhaler out of my purse and started having an anxiety attack and my little guy grabbed on to me for dear life hugging my neck trying to get away from her. My twelve-year-old gave her a hug even though it was a little bit hesitant. I think she finally got to see a glimpse into the destruction that was caused in my babies because she knows that this is not the kind of kids they are... They used to love her and hug her like crazy. I am so tired of having to stand our ground for the place that is 5 seconds from our house and I can't wait to turn in these new disclosures, including a video of my daughter graphically describing herself being raped after being tied down, so that this detective might choose to do something more than just read these things. I also think that today might be enough grounds that I can get a restraining order if I have to. By the way I was very straightforward, not at all angry, gently passionate and barely emotional when I spoke with her. Only after she left did I break down in tears. She cannot say anything negative of our interaction because I was way above reproach- way better than I could have ever expected to have been! I was prepared to walk away but waited long enough to give hope a chance.
My kids had SO much fun today! So it was all worth it.
