The vicious cycle of reporting...ugh.

So we made all those phone calls this last week to the child protective services. When I say we I mean two of our kids therapist along with ourselves. And just like I had suspected was going to happen since it's happened almost every time, we are now assigned another case worker but this time it's for my 4 year old and not for my daughter. I'm very frustrated and everytime we try to report new information we have a case opened on our family! I'm tired of CPS being in my life and I would like people to just take my children are saying seriously and turned it over to the police like they're supposed to. I know this is what needs to happen in order to get to that point it's just frustrating that it's already gone through this cycle with my daughter and older child but people are still not taking it seriously from the four-year-old apparently. I guess I should be grateful that they assigned us the same case worker we had a month ago so she at least knows that we are good parents has already done the home study and she's probably going to be willing to let us go into the office rather than showing up at our house. Remember we have that registered child sex offender across the street that were attempting to not have any knowledge of what's going on in our children's lives. I'm so tired of playing with fire... And that is exactly what it is when you have multiple children that have been involved in sexual abuse including internally... At any time CPS can say we're done checking up on you guys and we're just going to take the kids away. I know that's like the worst case scenario but you never know when these types of things and I would just like to get to the point where we don't have to play this game anymore. I'm hoping and praying that because of the phone calls the other family is going to get a case opened on them and maybe even have an emergency removal of their children from the home. If this happens it might be our only chance for the kids to tell the truth because they'll be separated and there will be no control over them from older kids or fear from saying things in front of the parents. Here's to hoping!

*hugs* That sounds so terrifying and frustrating. And, this is a big part of why I am so afraid of child services. It's such a double-edged sword. I don't know whether to be thankful that either (a) virtually all of the mandatory reporters who know about my daughter's situation failed to report it, or (b) child services felt my daughter's situation was beneath their interest. On one hand, I'm very grateful that we haven't been called into question and that my daughter hasn't been put through any uncomfortable interviews. On the other hand, I wonder whether the perpetrator boy was evaluated and treated properly. (Which brings me to another question that's been bothering me, but I won't hijack this thread with it.)
I wonder what child services would look like in a better world? Either way, I really feel for you and your family, WarriorMom.

We finally heard from our Detective and we're told that the pictures I sent in of my four-year-old along with some of the other pictures of the physical pieces of evidence there could be and will not be looked at at this time because our case is still being reviewed by the juvenile district attorney. It's been over a month since our case has been submitted and apparently our Detective still hasn't heard back from them so not sure what to make of that? But I detective did say that if we believe there's another perpetrator, i.e. monsteR, then we need to file another police report with the Department. I'm a little overwhelmed because I know that doing this is going to be the right thing to do I just have to go out of my way to prove the case somehow. I don't really have a lot of physical evidence that proves that this older boy videotaped my daughter with his mom's or his cell phone doing inappropriate things with his little brother and sister possibly in Halloween costumes. And we did make this report to CPS so... I guess I'll figure out what to turn in to try to prove this case I don't know. But that's my update!
