This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !
I am both excited because it's from my "friend" and hurt because it represents how much they think our family's emotional toil is worth...I can't wait to see her writing, the memo of what the check is for, who she wrote it to, their address...so many stupid little details that I need to keep moving towards closure of who she really was. I started sharing with my therapist all the red flags I ignored in our relationship and she was in awe of who this woman was. These are the things I wanted to tell the police but never had a chance to. I will share them with you guys after I finish with my therapist.
I get the check this Sunday from my pastor.
After stuff started coming out, she asked for our help before CPS came to their house. We, thinking it was a rogue sibling issue, wanted to give her tools to talk to her kids, so I dropped off 2 of my sexual abuse prevention kid's books...a very personal note of the emotional hell I was living in and encouragement to her about how to let her kids disclose was included. It was the last communication we had with me thinking she was my friend. One of the books was from my childhood...I had gone over it with my kids every year as prevention tool. (HA!) Anyways, that was last December...2015...I had asked her to return them and she always said they were lost or couldn't find them. So before they moved to Vietnam I made sure to take her up on the offer of financial reimbursement for the books...a measly $35. *sigh*
