So much to share!!! Movement is happening!
Hi ladies! I'm not even sure how many of you actually still read this stuff but I know a lot of you have been reading my story and watching how it unfolds and I would like to give you a positive update.
Where to begin... Well, I took my four-year-old to the doctor to have his anus inspected per the request of CPS verifying it's not a physical situation and as far as the doctor could see there was no signs of any abuse at this time.
I also just took my daughter to the doctor today to have them take pictures of her scars and validate that they are scars. It also gave us an opportunity for her to disclose to somebody else besides just me which she did a little bit and at least emotionally validated her story with her answers to questions and responses. It also means CPS will be called again and I told the doctor that's understandable. The doctor circled all the scars that we were able to easily see and took pictures with a ruler held up against them. She also showed me the notes from the very first appointment that I brought my daughter in after disclosure because... And this is another big development... Apparently the last time my daughter was abused was actually that day after our wish trip that we saw the family and we're giving them the gifts before the 1start disclosure happened that day. The sad part is that the doctor that saw us is no longer working with our Medical Group and we can't find any way to contact her. The reason that is sad is because she did not notate in her charts of my daughter that there was unexplainable redness in her vaginal area. She simply noted that everything looked normal and gave a brief history of what we knew at that moment in time with the emphasis being on her brother since we didn't really know anything about the other child. Anyways the reason that is important is because...
I spoke with the detective again! After leaving a message with him sharing that I had spoken with the victims advocate and would like to amend our case with the new disclosures and information that had come forth from my children, he called me back THE NEXT DAY! You all know what a humongous thing that is! Not only did he call me back, but he wants me to send in all the new disclosures typed up just like last time and he's willing to accept my daughters doctor's appointment, the 3 days after 1st disclosure, as part of the evidence as well. Not only that but he shared with me that there is a completely separate case with CPS opened against the family. So I believe he's starting to see our situation is a little more serious than he wanted to in the beginning. As I suspected, he denied most of the things that he had actually said to me that last day we met at my house about me having an agenda and not having to call CPS excetera. He actually was going to call CPS and see if they had planned on opening another case with our family or if it was going to Simply fall in the lap of the police again. It has been over a week and I have not heard from CPS so I'm guessing maybe not?
Now the fun part is I cut my hand with a knife on July 4th so I don't really have the ability to do most of what I do with two hands at this moment. So I let the detective know that and I also have to wait until at least this Friday for the medical records to be released to me including new medical photos. The other big thing that we're going to be doing starting tomorrow is attending a child's summer fun function at the local church that we've been staying away from. My husband is now 100% on board with standing our ground so if this family shows up we're not retreating. My kids can't wait to spend time with their friends doing fun things again. We also have joined the swim team and they are loving that! Some of our friends on the swim team attended a birthday party this last weekend where monster boy and his little sister showed up to attend as well... it made the mom a little nervous to say the least... But apparently the little girl showed up with a sprained ankle on crutches and when this mom asked her how that happened she said it happened when she was "sleeping." So I shared this new disclosure with the doctor today so that she can report that also to CPS.
I don't remember if I shared with you guys that we were able to walk around the local church for an hour with my two older ones and it was really therapeutic for them to get to go and visit the places that they had been hurt and just process it through and realize that the building can not hurt them it's only that monster child. The pastor really came through with making sure that we had an hour where there was no one at the church except for him and the janitor. It gave my kids the closure they needed to be able to go back to fun things at this church, which they've always wanted to do!
Another new development that I should share is that my oldest son is returning to our state tomorrow. I spoke with his counselor and he says that he can move home no problems. So now all I have to do is get my daughter's therapist to sign off on it. All of my kids are very excited for him to move back including my daughter. His cancer scans are also coming up in just a couple weeks so we're holding our breath hoping that that does not throw any more monkey wrenches into our situation. He also needs surgery again due to residual damage from the very first surgery he had and that will be occurring hopefully before school starts with a 3-4 week recovery time.
So anyways, A LOT happening over here! I never realized how much work it is to advocate for your children. I am so pooped but I know I have to keep pushing. I'll try to keep filling you guys in as things progress.
I hope this evidence is enough to make the difference you envision.
