Parents Whose children have been sexually abused Community Group
This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !
Long story short, YES, my husband struggled with the abuse being so much in his head that I had to wait over a year to be intimate with him again...I mean, he didn't even want to French kiss, cuddle...I got brief kisses, hugs and hand holding while he mentally/emotionally processed everything through. I couldn't even pursue because he'd backlash with "how can you think of sex at a time like this?!" And he was right...to a certain extent...except I CHOSE to mentally fight the abusers who were trying to take up space in my brain by attempting to live life normally.
There is hope though, with time. We are back to normal now! Everytime we come together there's a part of me that says "in your face monster family (my kid's abusers), you can not steal MY normal too!" So making love with my husband is now sort of a grounding...like THIS is what sex is SUPPOSED to be...a reminder that the act in and of itself is a beautiful thing, done right. It's healing. But it took a LOT of time for my husband to get there. Give yourself time to grieve...you'll get there again sooner than later. <3
