This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !

I knew in my gut something was up.My daughter admitted to me this morning that she has cut 2x with a razor blade,also has suicidal thoughts. I have been on the phone all morning/afternoon trying to get help. Our mental health system is seriously broken and cant even get an eval for an outpatient program until next Wednesday!!!I I am at my wits end

I used to work for a community mental health agency and they had walk on hours in the mornings first come first serve. Do they have something like that? If you feel things are serious enough, you could take her to the emergency room and they could admit her. I will keep thinking if your daughter and hope you get some help soon.

I hope you have some luck with the links Naive1 posted. My heart goes out to you and your daughter. Hopefully when you both get through all of this and start healing - you will be STRONGER and not victims - but SURVIVORS. I'm rooting for you!

We found a clinic and are trying to get her in partial hospitalization, we go on Wednesday.You would not believe the crap and red tape and ifs and buts to get someone to do something. So we are on suicide watch until Wednesday,have to call her therapist everyday until then. Child mental health needs a major overhaul!!!

It all does. It takes so much time to get someone admitted for emergency help, they're just as likely to get well before they even get in.....!! That said, I'm relieved that you have appointments and a plan, as odd as it seems to me that you should have to be the ones checking in. Wouldn't it be nice not to have to be the one to remember to help the professional do her job? Thank you for letting us know.
