This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !
The abuser of my children is my father in law. When I first met him I was taken aback at how much my then boyfriend looked and acted like his father.
17 years later, my husband's father is in prison for 50 years. My husband looks, talks, acts, has the mannerisms of his father.
Another note - When the Subway guy broke into the scene, I always thought there was a striking resemblance in him and my husband. They could be brothers. Jared Fogle is now facing charges for sexual abuse.
I had felt the space beginning between my husband and I before the abuse by his father. Now I feel our marriage is doomed. I can't seem to make these thoughts go away.
I have a nagging feeling, is he bound to be an abuser? Am I creating strife? Am I overlooking something in him that I overlooked in his dad? I would never dream he would harm his children. But I never dreamed his father would either.
I am seeking therapy, trying to make myself a better wife, mom, and person. Trying to work through all of the above.
I love my husband. My kids lover their dad. I am scared. Just voicing these thoughts makes me feel sick. But I have to get them out.

Disgusted by lazy men protuberant belly no muscle tone who have a dependent personality who are manipulative and feel justified to tell white lies for their own personal gain and who seek ego stoking...
But then when you read about the personality of a pedophile
They see children as servants for their own personal gratification and fail to recognize that they are beings with emotions and require protection for safety.
I refer to my husband as the stay puffed marshmallow man
He literally has feminine arms BC no muscle tone.
But I'm quite pleased that a man with no muscle, protuberant abdomen and dependent personality is no longer attractive to me...
I don't know what you saw in your father in law
But if your husband is displaying characteristics of his father from a personality perspective especially - and since as an abuse survivor yourself who's bells n whistles are quite likely malfunctioning and too late to go off, maybe there is reason to doubt this man. Maybe tho too, there is completely no reason whatsoever.
I would say genetic facial features you can't blame your husband. Same as you can't be upset with your children for looking like their dad.
But - if he acts like him, has a personality like him... I don't know how to advise...
