This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !
After my daughter disclosed to my husband and I we wanted to make sure our oldest son hadnt been touched. Well he told us "Papa tickled his tally wacker." Last week ET and JT were fixated on tagging eachother in their privates. Well ET tried to play that game with his sister. NOPE! So Et and I went outside and had the inappropreate touch conversation (he is four) so it was pretty Barney style. Well I was asking him to make sure he understood who was allowed to touch him and look at him in his private area. He said mommy and daddy and doctor only if you are with me. Then he started talking about "Papa tickling his talley wacker" again. No nudge from me just started talking about it. We of course tried to make a report for him as well when we made the reports for our daughter so they set him up with the forensic interviewer as well. Well they were in there for maybe 15 minutes and they were done. He didn't say anything and wasnt really interested in talking to her about anything really. So nothing has been done legally for him. Well now to the issue at hand. His preschool class is going over safety things this week, always wear your seatbelt, dont go anywhere with a stranger, what to do if you get lost and of course safe and unsafe touches. I want to have a meeting with my son's teacher and teacher aid in case he says something in class. I dont want them to take action as if we havent already done so and i dont want them to be blind sided by it but I have absolutley no idea how to even go about it. Do I just say he says his papa tickled his talley wacker but nothing came from it with the police so we are just leaving it alone for now? Golly i have no idea! I kinda just want to keep him home that day but that is just crazy talk... he just went back to school after spring break... joking aside i am terrified about this conference.........
So far there haven't been any issues. Also, in my experience, even though everyone is a mandatory reporter, people tend not to report if you tell them that you already have. I know they should, but they usually don't -- just saying.
But when I found out it was a male teacher prior to the year starting I ended up sending a message to the principle. Despite my reservations the principle was very supportive and changed her teacher immediately to a female teacher. It's been a great year.
