Well a van really. It's not right she is going to a day program for self harm and suicidal thoughts and her abuser is in his own school having fun in high school and all that comes with that.He will be going camping this weekend with his boy scout troop (overheard mother in law on phone).My daughter has been suffering since she was 8(now 12) has been to many doctors,sick all the time with stomache issues ect from anxiety.She has been in therapy for 3 years and was not able to be helped because we did not know what was wrong.She has had countless bloodwork, MRI's ect to find out why she was sick all the time,Every year since 2nd grade she has missed 30+ days of school due to sickness(really anxiety.stress),last year missed 42 days.She has been dragged to school crying, pleading when I thought she was just being difficult.I have been taken to court 2x for her attendance and have had CPS called also due to attendance.She has had to answer the kids at school when they ask "Why are you out sick so much",sometimes her friends have moved on because she is absent so much.At every parent/teacher conference I hear "If she was not sick so much she would be doing great" She is always behind in class and I am sure that sucks.She has missed countless activities because of "sickness" She is on Prozac,an antacid and I am sure more over the years.I have lost my temper more than once with her.I have spent thousands of hours on the phone/internet trying to find out why she was always sick. I think back to the days when she would just burst out crying for no reason, or the time she would not leave the house for a week convinced she was going to die.There is so much more.My daughter did not suffer some of the severe abuse you or your children have,in fact hers was minor.I say minor because of the level of abuse endured by some.My daughter was fondled, held against her will, and was threatened, just goes to show it is not the level of abuse that is the only factor,it depends on the person being abused.So if someone ever says "well at least it wasn't rape" or "you are lucky it wasn't more" remember and tell them abuse is abuse and at any level it can change a persons life.My daughter now suffers tremendous guilt for not telling us sooner,she told her therapist yesterday that she is terrified it will happen again by someone else,she believes since she was not able to stop it the first time she might not be able to stop it if it happens by someone else.She is convinced her cousin is going to look for her some day because she told.She wanted to do to this program so she could be around other kids like her (her words) she has 0 self asteem right now and had to try cutting herself to ease her stress(if you knew the drama queen my daughter is you would not believe she could cut herself)If she even stubs her toe she acts as if she cut it off! I use to buy band aids by the case!!!Ok i am done with my rant for the day, I am counting the hours until she comes home.I hope she had a great day and is getting help.
