This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !
So my sister in law called and told me my nephew's therapist called her to say she needed to report the abuse. (the therapist, not my sil)She is not really sure if it is reportable but she said her colleagues suggested she did.she also referred them to another therapist as she does not do that kind of therapy. I have to say I am very pleased, I feel bad being pleased but I hope he is as embarrassed as my daughter is when she has to talk about it.I know nothing will come of this probably but I will take what I can get. His younger brother has not been told anything but now my sister in law must tell him.The perp is in boy scouts and I hope they tell him to quit,he is working on his eagle scout but I don't really care.I don't want to wish things on him but I am hoping he has a hard time. I know this thinking is not very Christian like but I cant help it. I don't want his to ruin his whole life, just make it difficult. I guess I shouldn't feel bad for him, he deserves what he gets.
I would not consider an Eagle Scout as an offender. Seems contradictory to me and could rise to the level of scandalous and deceitful were he to display to others he's an upstanding citizen.
I would hope he is embarrassed to discuss what he did too and hope he behaves with some accountability.
I'm glad it's being reported - sounds the safer option to me. As a Christian, aren't you Ur brothers keeper? Don't you want this recorded in case others depend on it?
I think you're behaving quite Christian.
Stop feeling guilty for hoping for things to make some logical sense and be appropriate for once.
That boy has to learn, and it's not going to enter his brain via osmosis.
