This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !

I hope that everyone has a nice Thanksgiving. Try and concentrate on your kids and forget the perps for the day. That's my plan.
Starting some new traditions this year. No pedophiles allowed at my holiday celebrations anymore. All the years we wasted spending time with that sicko, if only we could get all that time back and somehow stop the abuse. Dreams. We can however move forward and exclude him from our lives.

This is a WONDERFUL new tradition. We had ours as well. It's not the same, but it was nice spending time with just my husband and kids not worrying about what to bring where and make it on time.

i felt really sad over the holiday, I love the no nasty perp allowed, but i miss having a whole family....always being a partial family now, it makes me sad. Not sad enough to not HATE HIM, but just sad he made such a terrible life decision for himself and a choice to try and destroy my daughters lives for his selfish desires. All around a sad thanksgiving for me this year.

Honestly I did have a few moments on thanksgiving when I got sad and angry that we are the excluded ones and the sick pedophile was eating his turkey with all the people in denial. Then I said a prayer, and enjoyed my husband and kids. Made my day when my abused daughter told my mom she had a great day. To think of all the years she had to be around him and we didn't know. Hoping for a great Christmas too.

Ocean I know it is hard to deal with the abuse and the fact that he ha conned everyone, my fil has done the same thing. We can do this.

Our abuse was disclosed on a Thanksgiving so it is our hardest holiday to get through. My son usually has BIG BIG mood swings starting a couple weeks before Thanksgiving. Last year was the first time he noticed the correlation of his mood swings to this holiday. I wasn't quite sure what to expect this year knowing that he was aware that his emotions are a fireball of energy at this time of year. I have to give the him credit, the weeks before Thanksgiving this year didn't seem to have the effect on him that it usually does. However, Thanksgiving Day broke my heart as he looked like he was on the verge of tears all day. It just kills me to see him like that ... GOD why don't they make bandaids for this?

He told me several times that day "Don't worry, I always get like this on Thanksgiving. It reminds me of what happened." We stayed up that night and went shopping at midnight. By 12:04 he was a transformed child, it was almost like he was counting down the minutes to allow himself to feel better. He is my HERO. I guess this is all just another tiny step to healing,
