Parents Whose children have been sexually abused Community Group
This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !
#1- I do think you need to tell the other parent. SECRETS are poison in this situtaion. I feel that there is power in the truth and this other mother should commend her daughter for saying NO! Does the other mother already know your situation as to the sexual abuse to your daughter?
#2- as for the facts that came out of the polygraph....GIRL U GOT THIS!!!! U should realize that these facts came out a month ago. Ur son is a month ahead of you as far as "coming clean". EMBRACE the positives out of this. HE CAME CLEAN!!!! (my step son hasn't even admitted ANYTHING and has plead the fifth amendment to not cooperate with the police without an attorney present). I know that the details are soooo important to us adults and some of them we do NEED to know. But as far as the minor details....I encourage you to ask yourself.....Why do I want to know??? Who will this benifit knowing this??? What will this change if anything??? (i'm totally preaching to the chior bc I was advised not to watch the taped interview but I did anyway).
#3- as far as attending the session tonight.....I feel that U GOT THIS!!!!! Be completely honest but try not to get in the attacking mode. Understand that ur son has revealed these details a month ago and he is a little ahead in that process of this...(doesn't make it right) but it is what it is......(I soooo can't believe I'm giving you advice on your son as the perp BC I want to completely erase my stepson from my world- I guess it's helping me figure out my feeling about my situation, helping you).
GOOD LUCK HUN AND I HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!! xoxoxoxo
The facts you now have are part of the past set of offenses, and he has to have moved forward from there. He needs you to acknowledge that, just as much as he neds to acknowledge that his deception sets everything back. I am not in your exact situation, so maybe I'm not really qualified to comment, but please know that I still have concern and care for you and your family. (((hugs)))
Anyway. I am still up in the air about the little girl that he tried to touch. He says she moved just as he was going to touch her behind, so it didn't happen and he doesn't think she knew. I have to weigh whether or not it would be productive to tell the other mother. She doesn't know about what happened. I haven't told a lot of people for the main reason that I want my daughter to be "normal", as normal as is possible. If she knew that her friends knew, it would be hard for her to go to school.
Thanks for the incredible support. I wouldn't make it thru this if I didn't have you guys to vent to, bounce ideas off of, and just generally get boosted up when I come here. Love to all of you. Hontess, thank you for being brave enough to ask the questions and for trying to understand the other side of it. I know it isn't easy.

As far as the little girl that he tried to touch...I don't think i would tell. That's just my opinion. If nothing happened and she didn't even realize he was thinking about it or trying...then I don't see the point of making her mom feel like we all do. Lots of prayers that you guys keep healing and moving forward.
We will get through this!!
