Parents Whose children have been sexually abused Community Group
This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !
Is it possible that she took him back in BECAUSE he didn't make threats? It's really common for spousal abusers to work their way back into the lives of the abused by "being really good." For whatever possible reason, the abuse victim thinks the abuser has changed -- or just hopes he has -- and back he comes, into the house where he had committed those crimes.
I may have more to say later. I did want you to know that I was thinking of you.
I see things from the mothers perspective and in my situation my daughter whos now 29 was abused by my husband (her step dad) when she was a teenager but she didnt tell me till this year and in the last 7 months my life has turned upside down, never once did i not believe her and i have supported her throughout, it was so hard as he denied everything and still does so for me i know one of the two people i loved most in the world is lying to me, but as a mum my instinct stays with my little girl and i have stood by her and have left my husband and moved into my own place. I understand why some mums dont do this though it was so hard to leave the person id been with for 28 years, i can understand why some people cant do that and its hurt me so much to do it but my daughter comes first.
for some people its different, i can see how the perpetrator can windle their way back in and gain trust back or even not believe the child, or rather not want to accept or hear the truth, its very easy to bury your head in the sand i've learnt that and how to pretend to yourself it didnt happen.
I hope you manage to rebuild your life. please try not to hold onto the anger of things you cant change. these people are not worth you loosing time over.
take care xx
