Parents Whose children have been sexually abused Community Group
This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !
From the experiences shared here, it seems that it is harder to put away a child molester than it is to convict someone for shoplifting. Both are acts of stealing, but one steals a pair of fancy headphones and the other steals an entire childhood, as well as the sense a parent has that she can protect and understand her own child.
I am so sorry that this has happened to your daughter and to you. I stand with you in devastated disappointment that the trial turned out this way. If his mom rigged the trial, she keeps a loser son, but loses a granddaughter who could use her support.
Keep writing. It helps.
I just feel like I failed my little girl. She testified in total 12 times. While everyone around her said she would be a hero to others if she did it just one more time. And she did over and over. Yet no justice for her. No finality no closure.
She isn't his biological daughter, but he had raised her from diapers. We have one son together and he is now 4. The first thing she asked me when she found out he was found not guilty, was oh no mom. Does this mean he will see Benji now. Will Benji have to go.
And I know the answer, because I'm sure one day he will fight me on custody of him, I still have full custody as he hasn't appealed it yet (knock on wood) but once he does I'll have no bone in the fight. Because of his not guilty verdict.
Every time I hear a knock on the door I expect a deputy serving me papers for an appeal date.
