I showed it to our older daughter who handled it well. I guess I am also concerned about the details they gave that could easily be used to narrow down who the victims may be. Do these people have access to files? It doesn't give such details on the courts online system.

I hope all of the parents of the children he had access to in this foster parent program saw this and are talking to their children.

How awful, Lusks. You don't need another surprise about this. I agree with your final point. I have no idea what access journalists can have to court files, but they certainly should be nowhere near the names of any minors involved. Still, as you say -- a process of elimination...BUT, your daughter will be forearmed by this report, and be ready, if rudely asked if she knows "the kids," to say something neutral, like "How should I know?" or "I couldn't tell you."

There are certain documents that go into the public domain. When my ex was finally convicted for possession of child pornography, the first names of the people he wrote very graphic things about ended up in the public court record. My daughter's first name (easy to figure out who she is - same last name) and my sister's first name were printed. There wasn't much I could do about it.

Most media stations though won't publish the names of sexual assault victims to protect them. Conversely though because the information they are reporting on is at the courthouse, if someone wanted to know more they would be able to read what ever is in the public case file.

I should add, I am very sorry you are going through this. It must have been an extreme shock to see this in the paper.
