This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !

On August 20, my 14 year old daughter disclosed to me than my boyfriend of 9 years had sexually abused her for 5 years. In that moment- I died. I immediately removed my daughter from the home, and reported to state police the same day.

Im not even sure what to say. As many of you have to know, I am in the midst of grief and anger much greater than I ever thought possible.

I guess I sought a group like this out just to know that I'm not alone. My daughter has already started therapy, and the crimes are under investigation.

I'm so sorry!!! Truly....i know all of us here would commend you for taking action and doing the right thing. Now it will just take time. I recommend counseling for yourself. The anger and betrayal are very difficult emotions to work through alone.

You are not alone. I'm at a particularly challenging point in my career (a good challenge) and will have less time than I'd like to respond. I'm five and a half years past my grown daughter's disclosure and still checking in to support and be supported. I urge you to make this place a habit. Yes to all Hearttsad said, including the need for a therapist of your own. Love to you!!

I know it is painful to deal with everything. It is hard on us parents. It is okay to put you and your daughter first above all else.
http://www.mosac.net/ has a lot of good information. I spent a lot of time there trying to understand. I still don't, but there are some pieces of information there.

You will go through many stages,for lack of a better word.looking back I now know I was in shock for about 3weeks,then anger,extreme anger,consuming my whole day anger.It has been 2years since disclosure here and although the emotions have not changed I can control them better.You have already sent your daughter a very strong healing message,you chose her.So many parents don't believe it or don't do anything,which is like a kick in the gut when your already down,very damaging.The good news,there can be healing,for both of you.Ask as many questions as you want to here,we as a collective group have been there.Hugs

Thank you for taking action for your daughter. In a way, you will go through the stages of grief as well. Maybe you both could go to therapy both separate and together. Don't blame yourself for this. This was not your fault. Hope things get better for you.

I am so sorry that you need to be part of this group. My daughter is 15 and disclosed in February that my husband her biological father had been sexually assulting her. There are so many things that will flood your mind in the coming weeks. This is a wonderfully supportive place.
