This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !
I'm REALLY struggling with feeling abandoned...
It's been 6 years since my second son who almost died was found to be going into remission. 6 years since the sexual and physical abuse began on this precious little boy's life. It's been 6 years... but I remember it like yesterday. My frail little boy who could barely be understood when he spoke, whose favorite thing to do was play doctor and prefer to hang out with adults. I remember it like yesterday when the monster mom invited him over to come have his first sleepover. I remember when he had his first play date under the pretense of "playing with Legos" ... and I'm looking back to the glasses of the truth knowing that those first couple times right after my baby came out of the hospital he was being exposed to the horrific, disgusting, filthy, creepy family and all there disrespect of the love that I poured into my child to keep him alive. They're plotting and scheming to figure out how to get a hold of more of my children to use for their own disgusting purposes. I let my daughter have her first sleepover with their daughter... and looking back through the glasses of truths I now know that that very first night was hell on Earth for my baby girl.
But the thing that I've been struggling with the most is how lonely my life is now that I have lost practically everyone that I ever looked at as someone that I can lean on. In the past six months I have learned that my "best friend" was really some pedophile pornographic sexual addict who hurt my babies and I've also fully gone "no contact" with my sociopathic, narcissistic father and on top of that I'm doing the Grey Rock method with my mother who lives 10 minutes from me and who literally told me that all of the boundaries that we set with her we're silly and that we were attacking her. On top of that my husband's in my relationship has been a little more strange lately due to some internal conflict and I really haven't seen or heard from most the people that I thought I had retained as friends. So I'm pretty much alone with my thoughts unless I'm completely in the midst of PTSD trauma with my children. I don't do well being alone emotionally. I need to feel like I have someone to lean on and it hurts that the people that I thought I could we're actually people that were hurting me right underneath my nose and I couldn't see it until the truth was so evident and my family had been so torn up. My heart feels like it's been shattered into a million pieces and the only reason I'm able to continue to go on it's because I've duct-taped all those pieces back together. And I have absolutely no options when it comes to giving up because without me pushing on the family will disintegrate. I am the force behind my family getting back to normal and yet I have nobody to help me do the same. I've been contemplating how to share what I've been feeling with you guys and I think that is the closest thing I've been able to get out to the reality of my brain has been mulling over. The weirdest part is that I'm not really depressed as much as I am just hurt and every once in a while I'll just break down crying because I'm so much in pain inside. And for some reason I can't seem to get my husband to understand what it's like to lose both parents and best friend/ surrogate mom and how that's really affected me as much as it has. He has compassion but no understanding.
So now you know why I've been quiet over here... it's not because everything's going great although everything is going pretty well except for my emotions.

I was sexually assaulted as a kid. I find it hard to accept that another person's actions caused me so much harm. He made bad choices and now I am paying the price. Stupid PTSD!
You are taking in so much, that isn't yours.. please don't blame yourself, you were not the 'overprotective' one, they were the UNDERprotective ones. THEY don't have true love in their mind, heart, and soul. THEY don't even care for their own children...
I feel sorry for those children who have grown up in that place... where they are being taught that this behavior is NORMAL...
And to pass this thought off on another's child and children?? Who else have they done this too!
Please, as hard as it is, please this isn't your burden.
Make sure to tell your children many times a day " I love you so much"...
Folks have told myself that 'you can't put your child in a bubble and protect them the rest of their lives...that's child abuse'...
no, actually it's not... my wife and I when we were kids were both sexually abused.. one of us are almost always with him.. ( 95% of the time, rarely leave him).
Sorry for that little thing..
The best advice I can give ( take it how ever) is seek a therapist, not only for you and the kids, but maybe all as a family. If you don't like the first therapist, ask for a different one..
Trust is earned, not something you give away.. it took me about 6 years of seeing the same therapist to finally tell him I was sexually abused as a kid.. 6 years...
It's hard to think that even though boys are abused, no one talks about it..
Abuse happens in a lot of homes, yet no one talks about it..
Hang in there, there are many caring folks in here who are good ones to talk to. They do care, they do understand...
I honestly hope I did help you even a little bit..
Just as my nick is on here, you're not alone, this site is great.

This crime can expose who's really on our side. It's bad enough to lose people who we thought were close to us (in your case, the perpetrators AND your parents), but the lack of overt and/or ongoing support from some of the people with whom we share our stories wounds us, too. And you're home-schooling now, right? So there's not even the normal pointless chatter with parents waiting for the school bus, or along the sidelines at soccer practice. It may be empty conversation, but at least it's interaction with adults, and you get to do what they all do.
This might be a good time for some audiobooks, so you can have another adult talking to you. Sounds silly, but it's kind of nice to have someone read a book to YOU for a change. You can download them for free from your local library's electronic resources. One of the advantages of this is that if you're not enjoying the book, it will self-return after a couple of weeks, and you can go ahead and pick out a new audiobook right away. (Note that there are also children's audiobooks available -- helpful if you're homeschooling. Some of them are read-along.)
When some of the intensive care aspect of new disclosures, etc., passes, and your children's behavior begins to normalize, you'll be better able to relate to other adults at a "cocktail party" level -- interesting conversations, but not about the weight of the world.
Keep writing. You know you'll be read!
Thanks for the tips however I am far from isolated & we have been doing books on tape for literature since disclosures as that used to be the only way to get them to learn. (Now, everyone can focus enough to read. :)
We are not isolated homeschoolers...my kids are on the swim team (practice daily), we go to church every Sunday, this weekend is actually my kids drama production that we've been working towards for 3 months (2x a week meetings) where I was the assistant director & makeup Lady...I've even been going to park play dates again even though I have to fight my emotions to do idle chit chat.
No, socialization is not my problem...I think validation & being built up by someone that you can completely fall back on is. I was so grateful last night because God brought my special high-school English teacher to the play and she hugged me like 7 times and told me how proud she was of me like 5 times! THAT was SO what I have been desperately craving...and so unexpected! I hadn't seen her in over 10 years! She had been a surrogate mom figure for me during the horrific abuse I suffered by my parents and truly one of the reasons I didn't become more suicidal. That meeting last night has fed whatever my void was...at least temporarily. Hopefully my husband can grow to become a better emotional-void-filler for me as we heal us.
We celebrate 14 married years in a couple of weeks! I'm so excited to have my mother-in-law in town to help with the kids so we can actually get away together, even if only for an overnighter! She'll be here for a month and while she still doesn't understand the kid's needs fully, she is much more gentle & caring then my own mom so we can trust her with the kids.
Thanks for reading how I'm feeling. I need to know people "get me" because nobody seems to in my real-life world.
(And I love my therapist but she's not real learned in the ways of narcissists or sociopathsomething or how their children grow up to feel. I've been teaching HER! Lol)
