My parental units (parents) don’t want to believe I got sexually assaulted even though I have documents from the doctor confirming I was..
What should I do everytime i try to talk to someone about it they get aggressive

I am sorry you had to go through that. Sometimes people deny what is true to avoid the pain of dealing with things.

I just don’t understand she was there for my sister when she went through it. My parents block any contact with me when I try and open up

Denial is like a cushion that allows people to get on when tragedies occur. I'm sorry this happened to you, AND to your sister. Maybe it's too tough for your parents to believe that this could happen twice in one family. It sounds as if you don't live with your parents. How about your sister? Have you shown your folks the MD docs?

From the point of non supportive parents... If you needed them to heal they would be there. Trust that. If they aren't there for you right now it's because for this you don't need them. What you need is out there so don't waste anymore time and energy you are far too valuable and your healing is way to important. Go out and get the healing for yourself. I leaned on God and good support groups and I was able find strength to get through. Sometimes we think we need others but really we just need to believe in what is already in us. Hugs.

BIG OUCH.........the hurt you must feel that your parents believed your sister and not you is really really bad.......on top of your abuse, your rejection, and not just rejection, but the knowledge that you are seemingly less loved, less cared than your sister........parental sibling preference is extremely damaging in itself, let alone the abuse you suffered........have your parents always seemed to prefer your sister? You may need to tackle the issues around this as well as the abuse.......do you have any family who care about you? Friends? Boyfriend? You need a counselling support.......you say you are not a parent yourself so you can seek support with-out worrying about your kids........very very good luck on your journey.......I am so sorry........perhaps even more about your parents reaction than the abuse itself xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

So sorry to hear this, not sure why I haven't seen your post til now. Heartsadx3 has some good info above. You don't get to pick your parents, and they are not always equipped to be good parents, at least not in all areas. Don't let their inadequacies hold you back. You have so many gifts and talents that you can discover with time and proper advocacy and/or therapy. Your abuse is a small slice of the pie that is you that rightfully needs attention, but it should be the right kind of attention that helps you work toward healing so you can survive and thrive, and find joy and peace in your life. You may want to consider calling a Women's Center or domestic violence agency near you. I was an active advocate in one for almost 7 years, and ours had case managers, free counseling, vocational trainings, legal advocates, a teen program, etc. If you are under 18 you can call your local child advocacy center and see what resources they have to help you, or possible speak to your guidance counselor, physician, or clergy member for referrals. Unfortunately you do not have parents that will say the right words to you and help you navigate what you need to pursue, but you can do this yourself. I'm glad you reached out here for support, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
