Ive been wandering how you are and wonderful news the peace part is the best go with that and yes God has it all in His hands. We lost our first house and it was hard but when I found out about my daughter I was thankful because he had done alot of the work. I am thankful we dont have to look at it now :/

Thanks hearsadx3. Things are still rocky. We are getting on top of meds for our oldest daughter, but now the younger one is not doing well. All the issues we have had with the older daughter are now issues with the younger one-eating, self-harm, depression etc. On top of that I have my own health issues, but they seem to be improving, praise God. Battling sinusitis as well but enjoying glorious calm, blue skied days and the pair of Superb Fairy Wrens which frequent our garden every day.

Off to counselling soon so best get organised and maybe fit in a short walk beforehand.

Such hard work im sorry to hear your girls are struggling right now. Keep on reminding them they are treasures from God and how very precious they are. Life is so devistating at times and none of us is immune to the ugliness although as parents it seems as if precious children should be. I will have to look up those birds they sound delightful.

I was just wondering this morning if you had found a buyer. It's too bad that you must make such a huge, inconvenient change, but you really do need the fresh start, a place to develop new rituals. I hope you find someplace you all really like. Your new neighbors will love you!

I hope that this will bring you peace. I am happy for you and do understand the numb feelings. It takes time to process how life changing this can be. Rebuilding is really important. I hope the move goes very smoothly.

Well, we ended up not even placing a bid. The opening bid was just below our maximum. Not sure what the house sold for, but it was way over our budget and well above what we thought the house was worth. Feeling pretty low and fed up with looking. I love our house here, and as the mother/wife it is what I put my stamp on and I'm finding it very difficult to find something else I could call home. Maybe I am just being super selfish. Feeling super wrung out. Off to have a nice cup of tea. That should help.

My husband and I have a dream to take our kids on the road and live full time out of an rv there is a website called families on the road that have blog after blog of families who are doing it. For most it is a break from mainstream for a year or so and I love reading about their travels and adventures. What is most appealing is their lack of material need. Right now we live in a small apartment that I adore with neighbors and a short walk to coffee or the park. We could afford more but I want a break from the house payments and maintenance of a home and being in a new area I want to have money to travel more around and do things. We have a pool for the first time ever and my kids are in heaven. I say all this to see if it sparks something? I know I too will someday have a home again with my family (at least I think :) but I won't let my security be tied up in it more than the blessing it is as a gift from the givers hand. I can live with or without it and be content and joyful beyond measure. Is there a dream your family has what a perfect time to start dreaming...check out the fotr website it is fun and ive seen families in Australia too :)

Do most people in these circumstances move for the benefit of the child? I am still in very early stages here but this has already crossed my mind. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Unite, we had already moved, 15 years before our daughter disclosed, only last year. I don't know if most people move after disclosure, but I would say, unless trauma occurred in your home, you may want to stay put for now. If your child is comfortable in school and activities, it might add to his/her sense of helplessness to control her/his life.

Circumstances should be your guide, unite. Your gut feelings are important signals. We all know how profoundly this changes your perspective on "home" and safety.

Sorry, completely missed this. Thanks Naive1 for replying. unite, as I have shared, we are moving because of the trauma that occurred in our home. Our counsellors all wisely suggested we don't make major decisions while in the middle of crisis mode, so we gave things time. It became evident that no amount of counselling or distance from the perp would be enough and physically moving was necessary as part of the healing journey.

Right now I am worn out. We don't have a new place to move to as yet, though should we need a temporary home our pastor and his wife are finishing their term about the same time as we have to leave this house and there is the option of staying in the house the church owns. We weren't going to ask about this as an option, but it came up in conversation yesterday and other people suggested it. For those of you who are prayers, we would appreciate prayers that a home be made available in the next two weeks as that is our realistic timeframe.

All the best with your decision making unite. I'm sure you will know in your heart what the right thing to do is. Our major delay was in getting approvals and getting our house prepared for sale. Hugs to you and your family.
