This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !

Horse Therapy... and her regular counseling....

So first off my daughter knew why she was going to see her counselor but didnt realize that she was going there to talk about the hard stuff...... man she only has a few sessions left... ugh... so i am wondering what to do with that...


i am wondering about horse therapy as well... there is a farm down road that offers riding lesson so no it isnt an offical therapy place but i truely believe in working with animals to work through some stuff.... i dont know. I think it is worth a shot. maybe i can find a program somewhere in my area that specialice in this kind of thing i dont know.

I did horse therapy with my kids ... my daughter the most victimized would not go on the horse but was there. They did other activities with her. The kids have not had lessons outside of the therapy but when they worked with them they did lots of trust building exercises in how they road. They rode backwards and lying down on the horse.

They bonded with the horse and overall I was very happy with it. I think animals are healing. We have a cat now the kids all adore and care for.

My dog is very in-too-a-tive (i never won the spelling bee... sound it out lol) on our feelings. If my emotions are going nuts she comes to me and lays her head on my shoulder <3 and if my daughter is off she is on her like green on grass... its amazing to witness.
