This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !
He actually asked for castration. Should I be happy and there will b no trial bc he is still admitting his guilt!? Says he desperately wants help? I have very mixed feelings!!!!!?????
My issue with it would be that more often than not, sexual abuse is about power and control, not just sex. I would question whether or not castration would take away the mental aspect of sexual abuse, the need for control, power. etc. Will it get to the root of the problem and change his need to hurt someone? There are other ways to abuse people without the use of genitalia, so is castration really a guarantee that he won't abuse again? If I were you, I would find out what medical experts say about all this before making a decision.
