Did you know that muffin mix can be used to make cookies? I didn't until my 7- and 12-year olds decided to try it without telling me they were cooking. :-) Normally I would be upset with them, but I just didn't have it in me yesterday. It was absolutely what I needed after my only gift from the hubby was a Facebook post and my mom spent the entire day with her mom and the rest of the family (that I'm not allowed to be around.)

For what it is worth, my wife is a survivor of being abused by her brother who is 7 years older then her. In typical fashion my wife's family continue to support the rapist and kick the survivor (my wife) to the curb. I can tell you however that it is allot easier on her not having to deal with tumultuous emotions of being treated like a second class citizen.

I'm sorry broken sun. I took my kids to Disneyland and had a friend cover my shift at work. I got some hand made cards from my kids. My older daughter who is 8 made a candle holder in her class that she gave me. Just being off work and spending the day with them was awesome. It's what keeps me alive. My daughters are 8 and 5 years old, both we're sexually abused by their father who I am obviously not with.
