This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !

We don't have to take to media, Twitter, Facebook or even email BUT we need to help our kids have their voice...even if it means putting it in a time capsule for when they're ready to share their story!
Help them...
-journal
-make art that expresses their emotions
-video tape play therapy-type stories they want to show you
-record "plays" they put on
-audio record some of their melt downs & PTSD episodes
-write letters to their abuser, how ever many they want (even if they aren't sent right now)
-believe their truth enough to tell others the basics if their children could be the next victim...show courage
-empower through factual, scientific sex education, however you can handle it
- take them to therapy...as long as they need to...and back to it when they need it again
-protect themselves by knowing who is safe to talk to
-be brave enough to not be ashamed to share the rated PG version with their friends...& make the parents aware so that they can use it as an opportunity to educate their kids rather than be anxious
One day, when they're older & brave enough, they will have the powerful testimony of their childhood selves to get justice with and give them the courage & strength to not shy away from going to the police & telling their full story...for JUSTICE!
A few weeks ago I spoke with our homeschool legal group about my concern that they did NOT have anything about children sexually abusing children on their website content if "what to do if you suspect sexual abuse" & I had asked if they'd wanted us to share our story anonymously...they said no but that they'd look into changing the website's lingo to include child-on-child abuse.
WE'LL, not ONLY did they add about kid abusers, they added a WHOLE bunch of awesome links to explain various pieces of such an ordeal so perfectly laid out that I can't complain! AND they exhorted all homeschooling families to include in their training sex education according to their child's abilities, to empower their kids because "they might not know they're being abused if they aren't taught the proper terms for their body or sex."
AND they included this tidbit in their weekly email in response to the 13 homeschooled Turpin children having been abused and the laws attempting to change because of this.
CHANGE!!! YES!!! :D
