Parents Whose children have been sexually abused Community Group
This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !
So I have spoken with my therapist my husband and numerous individuals who are part of some of these children's groups in our area that had abuse occur at them and I've decided to finish communication to be able to lay this to rest by contacting some of the higher-ups of those two groups that have not yet been contacted. One is the leaders who the kid's church group are supposed to be under and the other is the leader of one of the homeschool groups where I know there's another victim (that I don't think was reported) and possibly more than one and that my children actually were abused on their premises during the care of the monster family. I'm hoping that I'm doing the right thing and that this does not create any more crazy CPS or police matters but the more I think about it the more I believe this needs to be done to protect future generations of children and unsuspecting homeschool families from ever being harmed in the future. I'm banking on the fact that homeschoolers tend to not want to report these kinds of things and that it will remain confidential especially since we've already had police cases opened closed and put to rest. But we shall see...

So I spoke with the leader of the one homeschool group that the monster family used to attend. Not only was she extremely respectful of hearing my side of the story but she was understanding of me not wanting to be slanderous and so we didn't even use the names of the family at all but we both simply knew who we were talking about. The most amazing part was that she Not only was excited for me advocating and taking me seriously saying that if they ever tried to come back they would obviously make a different decision based upon what they now know as the full story, but she herself was also a sexual abuse victim when she was 6, 8 and 10 years old from children perps, so she understands to a certain extent what my kids have gone through. She did however not go through the police or CPS at all so she didn't quite get that part and I explained to her that just because the police decided not to go ahead with a case does not necessarily mean that it's not true and that there's not any evidence at all to prove that there's something that happened just means there wasn't enough to have a case they're willing to do. It was overall very good conversation she gave me a lot of help and encouragement that it was going to get better and it would just be a part of my childrens' story rather than to defining who they are. And she's considering speaking with all the parents of that group to just remind them to talk about body safety with their kids which was really exciting to hear! The only bad part was that one of the other victims that monster girl had had sex in the shower with at their group is not known by her specifically but I did let her know that if she figures out who it is and they come to her that she's welcome to give them my phone number and name if they would like to discuss the situation with us and what we've done with the police . One down, one to go...

I finally got to talk the higher up of the church kid's group. We had an hour conversation which was such an encouragement to me. He shared with me that he too was a childhood victim of sexual abuse and that not only that but that he was in the middle of giving an orientation to the staff of his particular group about prevention and symptoms of sexual abuse to look for. He said My Story gives him the fuel to want to make sure that he shares this necessary information even more powerfully. He also told me that if we'd come to him when the monster family was still attending the Awana that he would have stepped in and told the church that they needed to have them leave. He said there was no excuse for the way that we were treated in the way that our particular leader dealt with things. He said that he's offering us the ability to go on record with their sexual abuse liaison I'm documenting our story so that if anything ever happened with that particular group again it wouldn't come back to haunt the overall umbrella. I need to go and speak with my husband about it and make sure that's what we really want to do. Overall I was very encouraged by our conversation and I feel at peace with the fact that I've been able to share now with two people that are in charge of large groups of children that could possibly have been affected by monster family and the truth is now out there. Don't be afraid to share with those who need to know!

So an update on the church group leader... The AWANA missionary who was supposed to contact the sexual abuse liaison did so however that woman was fired due to budget cuts. Then the lady who took her spot and he was supposed to contact her with our story before I talk to her, quit. So I finally got ahold of him via the telephone and he told me that I could just send the information to him so that he could give it to whoever ended up taking over that spot. He also has it on his extremely busy list of to-dos to call my friend that is still working at this current church group that we left and talk with her about setting up a time to go and speak with the pastor and leaders of that particular group. He did attempt to speak with that one leader who had been very obnoxious towards us but the meeting they were supposed to go to there was a lot of traffic so he never made it. I have 30 pages of documented emails, text messages, journals and memories in regards to the way that this church and its leaders reacted to the information that we gave them that I will be turning in. I took a lot of work to put it together and to make sure that it was what we wanted to turn in. My friend who's been awaiting the phone call from this missionary is also writing a letter of her remembrances of the last two years to turn in with my packet. So at least our modified story will be in a file somewhere looked at as the truth. I would share it but I don't have the energy to go through and delete all of the personal information because there is a lot. But the 30 pages covers the two-year span of interactions with the pastor, the youth leader, and this youth church groups leader that was rude to us. It includes the police and CPS case numbers. It tells who the family is and the church that we were interacting with. And it's spoken in third person so it's not a personal rant and I tried very hard to make sure that the language was stuff that are children said and not stuff that we were claiming as fact. It feels freeing to have this part completed because I don't have to do it again. I'm still hoping that other people will come forward and talk to somebody about the pain and suffering this family put them through so it doesn't just look like our crazy family out on a personal agenda.
