Hi...


I keep hearing that once my children "disclose" steps can be taken.


Based on very negative past experiences with DHS I am scared to misjudge when my kids have disclosed sufficiently - I cant bear the thought of them once again believing I will save them just for me to have to hand them over to their father yet again.


So, what exactly is "disclosure"? How much do they have to say? Details? Key words? How do I make sure they will be believed and I wont be blamed for brainwashing? How do I convey all the behavioral red flags, all the ALARM- behavior they never display publically? 


I am beyond lost and hopeless. I'd die for my kids in a heartbeat yet I cant protect them from my husband/their father. I am sorry if this post is upsetting anybody, I truly am

Forgot if I've mentioned this to you before, but have you checked if there is a sexual assault or rape crisis center in your locality? You can find one by calling the national hotline at 1-800-656-4673 They might have experience with how your local authorities, both DHS and police, tend to handle things in your area and what works to get them to believe your kids. I hope and pray you will be successful soon!

You could also see if there's a child advocacy center in your area (can't remember if you already said you did that) and have an evaluation through them.

Hi,
I don’t have a lot of advice, but I do know how you feel. My two and a half year old disclosed sexual abuse and I’m in a battle to try and protect her from continued abuse by her father and I don’t know if I can. To say it’s a horrendous feeling is an understatement. I’d die in a second too if I knew she’d never have to experience it again.

I’m pursuing all avenues: Department of family services, police report, and civilly.

I’m praying for your kids. And you.

As soon as my 4 yr old described to the police what daddy was doing to her, the children's social services were on me to never let him have contact (AS IF I NEEDED PERSUADING) Although not a court order, her father would not have dared go against their assessment. However, I am in the UK, and the law is different here. We did go to court and the f****** b****** was found not guilty, but he didn't pursue contact, as the police, and social services, knew what he had been doing, even though the court cleared him.
