This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !

Has anyone experienced a child that has been sexually abused to then go on to act out some of the same things on another child of a similar age. Please message me privately if you're willing to discuss this.

I think this is one of the biggest fears we all face after disclosure. It may happen more often than we know, more than kids are willing to tell us about themselves after disclosure. They're so confused by having been abused themselves....

Yes, my best friend (as a child) and I were both abused by the same older teen babysitter. And she once confided in me on a Girl Scout trip (we were teens by then) that she acted out of her abuse on another kid when she was 5 or 6
We talked about it at length. She hadn't really known what she'd done was wrong at that age, but had known she'd felt kinda weird about it.
Later as she got older and hit her teens, it really bugged her.

All my abused children acted out with each other. When the abuse came to light, we took the appropriate steps to keep them from doing this (safety plan, therapy, personal safe zones, pastoral counseling, etc.) and after about 6 months-year they weren't interested in doing it anymore. I don't have to worry about it anymore. It's totally normal! Not that it feels right or shouldn't be addressed, but please don't feel embarrassed about if your child did it.
