Parents Whose children have been sexually abused Community Group
This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !
regarding how our families and friends react to the abuse.
not sure if you all remember(I haven't posted for a while) my daughter was raped at knife point on her school campus by a friend.
by the way we take things daily and so far so good.
anywho.....as far as people within our family circle reacting to the abuse and turning a blind eye etc etc...do what I did...NOT CARE...meaning we are doing whats right and protecting our babies..if they don't like what we have to say etc...screw them...ive been told that's a poor attitude on my part..hahahah like I care
we do whats right in our hearts and we should stand proud and strong...maybe that's a hard stand but it works for me
for me im lucky regarding my mum and dad..total support and prays...
what I have found is my daughters mates(not all but a few) have told her to drop it and stop being so dramatic and to get over it!!!!!!! you can imagine my shock when it was her girlfriends not male friends(the male friends have been so supportive)
I know I know im all over the place...when it comes to all this, my mind goes a mile a minute...
bottomline is..were strong supportive and don't need the negative...its easy to type it but following it is hard and ive done it
so take a deep breathe
be proud..strong

its like their afraid on how it will look to others instead of being a form of strength in the family who needs it...
but we have each other on this board...
