This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !
Has anyone hired a private investigator?

I wish,I would love to hire one just to follow my daughter's abuser around and make it known he is being followed,just to make him squirm a bit.But I don't think that is what you mean! Oh well,just dreaming

Now that sounds like an entertaining idea, and rewarding in a very visceral way! But expensive. And probably an unlikely way to find anything that would be admissible in a courtroom (might involve hacking or breaking in). You'd have to find a seriously good one if you did, and I have a feeling that few are as smooth and professional as the ones on TV.....

Yea your probably right. I am just so angry this guy get a lawyer and does not have to talk. Since there no proof other than my son forensic interview who know what the D.A. Will do.

My mother in law hired a lawyer for my daughter's abuser,who is my daughter's cousin.Can you imagine how my daughter would feel if she knew her own grandmother took HIS side!Yes,they are both her grandchildren but what a kick in the face.Of course we did not tell my daughter.This crime seems to protect the abuser.

Yea it does protect the abusers and make the victims feel like they are the ones at fault. I feel like this is why people don't report this abuse. Which is a big problem, because the abuser will do it again to some other kid. Well one thing for sure hiring a attorney is a sign of guilt. So rather they say it or not the family will know he did the crime.

Unfortunately the family support him,thinks my daughter is making too much of it,thinks we are taking her to different doctors to get drugs,and said she would move HIM out of the country if need be.

I have been contemplating this idea as well although we don't really have the finances to support it. However, there are numerous individuals who I've never been in contact with, some probable victims, that I would LOVE to have them go talk to to get a bigger picture of the truth! Sadly, it's a pipe dream...just is how it is.

I would LOOOOOOOVE to hire a very good and resourceful private investigator! One that was able to hack my husbands computer and phone because I think there are probably some answers there of some sort. Not sure it would prove he molested our children, but would prove he's a sexual deviant. Unfortunately, like others have said, money is an issue.

Yea , don't I know it. He better hope I don't win the lottery. They just past a no statue of limitations on child sex abuse in my state. So if I ever get the money.
