Anger.... when does this go away?

I find myself more angry every time I speak to our investigator. It's always, I'm waiting on interviews or waiting on reports, etc. We have done EVERYTHING that has been asked of us (exam, CAC interview and therapy) but nothing has changed with the status. We began this process late March and no results other than an arrest for 3 felonies to which he bonded out within 24 hours. I'm frustrated but understand this will take time. I know there are other children who were victimized by this POS and just wish they would come forward.

Yes, the legal system is excruciatingly slow. And that's without Covid--with the backlog of cases that months without trials created, who knows. I just saw a report in the paper today for someone who was arrested for attempted homicide in Aug. 2018 (significant to me because it was the same month my daughter disclosed) and he was just now finally sentenced to prison time and extended supervision! Also just today I was reading an account of a concentration camp survivor who was a psychologist (the kind of light reading that appeals to a mom in our shoes I guess) and he said that one of the hardest parts of the experience psychologically was having no idea how long it would last. I thought of the court process right away--there is truly torture in having no control and no idea what the timeline will be or when the next move will come.

Do you know if he was charged too or just arrested on suspicion? Charging is a significant step, it would mean they think they have evidence in hand to pursue the case.

The legal process is slow. My daughter’s abuser was charged 7 months after it was reported. The trial was postponed twice before it happened. Sentencing is in two weeks. This is a little over two years from when it was first reported.

I hope you get justice. The drip of time is agony. And the thought of other children being or having been hurt is reprehensible. Is there a way to get them to speak up??
