Just had a really scary night, the night before last. Dd13 came downstairs at 4am to say she was certain she had heard loud knocking on her bedroom window and seen a light going off and on. I thought that maybe it was a dream except that the outside light had come on. Dh went to investigate and couldn't see anyone. Dd ended up staying with me and dh slept upstairs. I thought that maybe ds, the perpetrator, had violated the standing order, but thought this unlikely as he had made no attempt to do so in 9 months.

Woke up and turned my phone on to find a missed call. Odd. Listened to the message. It was the police. They had been around at 4am. Our older dd had been on Facebook and her last post was "goodbye". A concerned friend contacted the police. As a result the police had an obligation to check that all was OK. I was scared @#*! and asked dh to check if dd was fine as she has attempted suicide. Turns out that she was fed up with the bickering going on with friends and decided to leave the conversation and go to bed. Lesson learnt all round. Dd was very embarrassed. I'm glad she has a friend who cares enough about her to do what he did. I never want to be woken up that way again. Just grateful that everything is going fairly well.
