This group is for parents whose children have been sexually abused. We welcome both Mothers and Fathers. Here, we can offer support to one another. We can vent, cry and lift each other up. No condemning or criticizing allowed. We are here for support. We LOVE (((HUGS))) !
My court date is quickly approaching and I am trying to feel calm and not let fear into my heart. I was told to prepare to hear things about myself that aren't true and that may upset me. I am going to try and lay it all aside just knowing that my job there is to protect my daughter!
Hang in there. Post often. Get it all out, and then....breathe, breathe, breathe, and be the strong mommy we know you are.
My verse is: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Short and easy another good one is: If God be for me who can be against me.
One more thing I will specifically be praying for you is for favor. I have this year been praying this for my husband in his work and I pray it often for myself when I need things to go well. Like this morning I had to call the state to get some very complicated health insurance issue resolved for my kids to continue getting health insurance I was so stressed that we would lose it or have to pay money we don't have. So I prayed for favor with whomever answers the phone and that God would give that person wisdom and knowledge to resolve the issue. So the first guy answers was very short with me but I'm thinking I prayed for favor I stay calm explain the situation he keeps putting me on hold and the second time it disconnected me. Talk about frustrating right? So I dial back in get back in the hold line and get through again I explain that I was disconnected and was ready to give this new person my number so incase it happened again he could call back well wouldn't you know it they have my number and the other worker should have called me back but didn't but this new worker was much more helpful he went above and beyond to ensure my children had coverage and that it wouldn't end up costing us more. wow such a relief. I was praising God all the way through. And how fortunate the prior call was disconnected and he hadn't tried me back. Here's the cool thing praying favor is biblical it isn't hocus pocus good feelie thing. God promises us favor that comes from Him not because of anything we do or how nice we are but because we are God's children.
Isaiah 61 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair.
Exodus 3:21
And I will cause the Egyptians to look favorably on you. They will give you gifts when you go so you will not leave empty-handed. (love this example of favor these Egyptians were not Christians did not worship God but still God influenced them to look favorably on the Israelites so much so that they left with all their possessions)
Numbers 6:26
May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.’
Also, I am glad that you got your insurance issues resolved...I know when I have to call I always brace myself and try to be patient!
