I am a first time and feel so alone.  My youngest was sent to jail a couple weeks ago. He broke he probation by stealing from a “friend”.  It has been a rollercoaster ride for the past five years. It’s his third infraction and I believe the dancing thru the raindrops has come to an end.   He is 20 and the only one that was at home.  He was wrong and deserves to be punished but I don’t know how to handle this.  He is badgering me from afar.  Begging me in letters and texts? I didn’t know you could do that in prison.  And random phone calls to take to his P.O. and also contact the friend to drop charges.  



I told him the last time  was the last time I would pay for a lawyer   Of course he is asking and I am waffling   Help....  I just want it to stop    His father is not a support system at all


I just got a new job and with Christmas stress I’m already aniextied out.  


Its all based around his drug problem and the avenues he travels to support it

Hello! Hang in here because drugs is a demon and it rides people pretty hard! It doesn’t care younget in its way either. But that burden can be broken by the Love of Jesus. My son was facing ankife sentence and now saved. He said his life has just begun.

Sorry you are experiencing this. Reading your message, I thought...It sounds like he is making you pay for his crimes. If he is 20, it is his responsiblity to pay the price, not yours. It is hard because he is your baby...totally get that... my son is only 18. But he put himself in a desperate situation and took desperate means to get out of it which now may mean he will face life in prison. We decided that we weren't going to put ourselves in debt, so he has a public defender. He knows, (though we haven't actually said so) that if he badgers and harasses us (though he has only called once since July 25 when we say him last and didn't show for a visit we scheduled for Christmas), that we will still write and love him but will not put any money in his comissary. It is so hard not to jump when he needs something but if we do, we are allowing him to manipulate us. We know that they are desperate, but sometimes going through desperate times means that we have to depond on God and Him alone. We pray a lot about what God is leading us to do to support him...physically, emotionally and spiritually (even though he won't have anything to do with God.) Our hearts ache for him and we so want to fix everything, but we can't. Only God can if our son will just let him. Hope that you don't take this as critisizing what you are doing or have done. Not at all! I have not walked in your shoes or know your circumstances. I just know what God had worked in us through this horrible time. I care deeply for all the parents of prisoners that are stuck in such a bad place because of the choices of their children. I want the best for you. Hug.
