Hi All, It is Wednesday afternoon and I have finally sat down to check my tons of emails. I have been in a meeting all day. Received an email from my son Sherwin. Listen to this story.....His dad has been owing me child support for years (Sherwin is 36). I received a letter last week that the child support services took $3000+ out of his and wife's income tax. It is on hold until September. If the wife doesn't come forward to claim or prove that the majority of the money is from her income (dad is on permanent disability), the money will come to me. I was told he owes me $4000. I told Sherwin what had happened. His email asked me could he have the money when he is released in 2012. I told him not to get his hopes up because his stepmom will probably come forward and we won't see a dime of the money. This will be interesting to see how it all is going to play out. On another note, I received a message from my niece to tell me that Sherwin asked her to go by his apartment that he shared with his girlfriend for about 10 years and get all of his things. I guess this means he is finally finished with her. I have kept quite through this whole relationship. I kept telling him she was to young for him and also she wasn't a positive REAL WOMAN that he needed. I gave up and let him make his decision. Now I think he has finally seen the light. I don't know what happened and will not ask but he will eventually tell me the story. Before he went to prison he was living in Tennessee so I have no contact with her whatsoever. Thank goodness! Hi Joyce, well I have to tell you my child support story. My daughter is 21 yrs old and my ex owes over 8000 dollars. Well they finally caught up with him and every so often I get 25 dollars. I said at this rate she will be 40 yrs old and still getting child support. No way am I letting him off the hook even though she is grown. He owes her that and it pays her commissary when I get it. But I have never gotten any tax money...probably for that reason, his wife is the major bread winner. I disliked my daughter's boyfriend before he got her into this mess...she is still writing him but I hope that eventually she will see he is a loser. All we can do is support them and pray they see the light. Thanks for listening here too, love, sharon

My son was in jail serving time and child support kept sending me letter about the money he owes his x , so I rang them. I told them his adress and the stupid women asked me to cantact him. I had to explain that he only makes 14 dollars a week and you guys are asking for 75 dollars . well my dear I said to her this aint going to happen. ,and no I cant just ring him. she said can he get in contact with us, I said unless they give him the keys to get out of jail he aint going anywhwere for a long time . Can you see them doing that. In the end i asked her to ring the jail. She said so they put me srtraight on to him oh thats good. I swear she had blomde roots. So after many phone cals explaning he was in jail and no he cant ring or come and see you they finnally wrote to him. makes you wonder hey . hugs Wendy

just wanted to say, that my ex has owed over $100,000 in child support for many, many years. i live in california, and one thing i've learned is that once the child has turned 18, THEY themselves can legally sue the parent who owes the child support for the money due. if the custodial parent has received government aid, then the child would not be able to collect, nor would they, obviously, if the "deadbeat" parent has no job or assets to liquidate. but a tax return is certainly a great place to start!! i wonder why it took them so long to get anything from Sherwin's dad?? glad for you, *almab*, that you are finally able to receive something.
